Sony Music Starts Indie Games Label Called Unties

by Matthew Kato on Oct 17, 2017 at 09:41 AM

Sony Music Entertainment has unveiled a new, multi-platform indie games label called Unties, and the publisher already has four games signed on.

The four games in Unties stable have already been announced (Tiny Meta (above)l, Last Standard, Merkava Avalanche, and Deemo Reborn), with Tiny Metal coming out first on November 21 on PS4, Switch, and PC. The release dates for 3D action title Last Standard (PC/TBA), mech battle game Merkava Avalanche (PC/TBA), and rhythm title Deemo Reborn (PS4) are still up in the air.

Games published by Unties will be released worldwide, and these initial titles specifically come from development teams in Japan and Taiwan.

Our Take
I hope Unties continues to focus on indie developers from Asia and other areas we don't hear about as much over in the West, cultivating an identity that hopefully includes quality gamers can trust.
