Bungie Delays Destiny 2's Prestige Raid

by Cody Mello-Klein on Oct 09, 2017 at 02:55 PM

All good things come in time. After stating last week that Destiny 2's higher difficulty prestige raid would launch alongside the Iron Banner event which begins tomorrow (Tuesday, October 10), Bungie announced today in a community forum post that the prestige raid has been delayed to Wednesday October 18.

The delay is due to an exploit "that causes the encounters to be stripped of their intended challenge," the post reads. According to Bungie, they don't want the fireteam that manages to complete the prestige raid first to have their victory questioned or doubted. The prestige raid will now go live at 10 a.m. PT on October 18. Iron Banner's first appearance in Destiny 2 remains unchanged.

Our Take:
The raid is designed to be the hardest and most rewarding part of Destiny 2's endgame. It's great that Bungie takes this event seriously enough to dedicate extra time to ensuring that the prestige raid actually warrants the "prestige" label and that the World First status is rightly earned.
