Epic Says Combating Cheating Is Their Highest Priority For Fortnite: Battle Royale

by Imran Khan on Oct 05, 2017 at 01:47 PM

Fortnite: Battle Royale is astoundingly successful for Epic, but the Unreal company does not want cheaters ruining the experience in its early life.

In a blog post today, Epic's Nathan Mooney explained "addressing cheaters in Fortnite is the highest priority across Epic Games." He goes on to say that Epic is considering a number of methods that they're not willing to disclose yet, but that thousands have already been banned.

The first measure is a character progression system to incentivize players to behave properly or risk losing all the progress on their character. With Battle Royale being free to play and Fortnite in general passing the seven million player mark, combating cheating is an important first priority for Epic to ensure the game is not impossible for the other players.
