Star Wars Battlefront II's Multiplayer Beta Now Live

by George Ash on Oct 04, 2017 at 12:08 PM

The Battlefront II multiplayer beta has begun for those who preordered the game before September 30 or have an access code. The beta ends Monday, with it opening up to the general public Friday. It’s available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

The beta includes access to four game modes. Galactic Assault features 20 on 20 combat, including air and ground vehicles, in Naboo’s capital city of Theed. Starfighter Assault takes place in space where two 12 player teams dogfight to destroy or protect a Star Destroyer ship. Strike includes eight vs. eight battles of First Order troopers against Resistance fighters on the planet Takodana. Finally, Arcade mode pits one or more local players against either waves of enemies as Darth Maul, or enemies in a Team Battle mode on Theed.

Each day of the beta features challenges. Today’s challenge is to play as all four trooper classes while racking up 150 kills. Tomorrow’s challenge will be to use battle points to become a light and dark side hero while defeating 20 enemies. Friday’s challenge is to win three Arcade games while defeating 30 enemies. Saturday’s challenge involves playing and defeating different types of enemies in Galactic Assault. Sunday and Monday has players dogfighting in Starfighter Assault, with a challenge involving becoming a hero ship.

Everyone who plays the beta will receive a special founders crate, contents of which will be available after the game launches November 17. Progress made during the beta will not carry over to the full game.
