Thomas Kalinske (seen above on the right), who lead Sega during the Genesis heyday of the early-to-mid 90s, has been hospitalized after suffering a stroke.

The news was first revealed on a recent official Sega Twitch channel, and Kalinske later confirmed the news through his own Twitter account. Kalinske has lost "some capabilities" on the left side of his body, and, though conscious and stable, will be in recovery for the next 10 to 24 days.

Kalinske was instrumental to the success of Sega during his tenure, growing the company's share of the video game market at a time when Nintendo was seen as the undisputed king of the industry. Our Take
I wish Kalinske the best, as well as a quick recovery.
