Canto Bight is one of the new locations in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. In behind-the-scenes footage from the film, we learn Canto Bight has a gambling sector with an upscale casino where the universe's wealthy walks of life come to gamble away their fortunes. The footage also shows that the adorable creature pictured above is stabled in this city. Thanks to an entry in a Star Wars: Made Easy book, we now know these horse-like beasts are called fathiers, and they are used for competitive races on Canto Bight.

The entry calls them "space horses," and prized possessions that can run "extremely fast." The book also provides a snapshot of one of the Canto Bight sets with a stained glass window depicting a fathier race, complete with riders on their backs. Will we see a fathier race unfold in The Last Jedi? We're hoping we do, but leaked photos from sets suggest one will be used in for reasons other than gambling.

The pod race in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace was cool in concept, but, well, we don't need to detail where it went wrong. Let's just hope if such a race does exist, we don't hear its play-by-play from a two-headed announcer. Fathiers are mentioned in Chuck Wendig's Empire's End novel, but are supposedly misspelled as "faithiers."
