Marvel Is Remixing 30 Years Of X-Men History In New Comic 'Grand Design'

by Imran Khan on Sep 15, 2017 at 03:42 PM

Marvel Comics announced today that that cartoonist Ed Piskor is taking on the entire history of the X-Men in the new comic, Grand Design.

Piskor, who is best known for 2013's Hip-Hop Family Tree, is teaming up with Marvel to remix X-Men's long history over six issues of forty pages each. That's thirty years, 280 issues, and over 8000 pages retold in Ed Piskor's vision.

The comic will run over three years with differing names for the arcs - Grand Design, Grand Design Second Genesis, and Grand Design X-tinction. All six issues will be written, inked, and colored by Piskor himself. The debut issue will release on December 9, with a collection of the first two issues being compiled and released on April 17, 2018.
