Reader Discussion – What's Your Favorite Film Or TV Adaptation Of A Video Game?

by Javy Gwaltney on Sep 10, 2017 at 03:01 PM

Both Dad(dy) Of Light and Castlevania, Netflix show adaptations of video game, have been recently released to mostly positive reviews. Our own Elise Favis recently sat down and watched all of Dad Of Light, which focuses on a father and son bonding through the magic of Final Fantasy XIV, and wrote up her thoughts about it:

Dad of Light still has lots of charm and I felt connected to both the story and characters the whole way through. It sometimes feels like an extended commercial when the characters' connection to the game felt over-the-top, but it still has its share of good qualities. Dad of Light is worth a watch not just for Final Fantasy fans, but for anyone who loves video games and appreciates their ability to form strong connections with the people we love.

It seems that, on the whole, video games are finally getting decent adaptations in film and television. So what's yours, reader? Resident Evil? Silent Hill? Mortal Kombat? Tomb Raider? Let us know in the comments below?
