L.A. Noire Is Coming To Modern Consoles, Switch, And Vive

by Suriel Vazquez on Sep 07, 2017 at 08:00 AM

Among Rockstar's many interesting projects is L.A. Noire, a detective adventure game which, at the time of its release in 2011, seemed to usher in a new era of facial tech (the writing was also good, for the most part). In 2017 the game's still a looker, and will be headed to Vive, Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One come November 14.

All three of these versions come with their own tweaks. The Vive version, subtitled "The VR Case Files" rebuilds all seven of the game's cases "specifically for virtual reality," (whether this means you'll play the game from first or third-person is unclear).

The Switch version of the game adds optional gesture-based controls mapped to the Joy-Cons, touchscreen controls, and "wide over-the-shoulder camera angles."

Not to be left out, the PS4 and Xbox One versions will include "new cinematic camera angles" along with the usual higher-resolution textures and other graphical facelifts.

Our Take
If you think this is going to get you out of that "Put Read Dead Redemption on PC" homework assignment you haven't turned in, Rockstar, you're gravely mistaken.
