Horizon Zero Dawn Introducing Easier Difficulty For Story-Focused Players

by Brian Shea on Aug 21, 2017 at 11:22 AM

Guerilla Games has announced that as a part of its 1.32 update for Horizon Zero Dawn, it is introducing an easier difficulty for players who want to just experience the story. The mode comes on the heels of the 1.30 update, which added the "Ultra Hard" setting.

The new difficulty setting, appropriately called "Story," is meant to let players experience Aloy's tale and explore the open world without fear of difficult battles. Selecting "Story" difficulty buffs the player damage while reducing the damage Aloy takes, making encounters much easier.

Our Take
Horizon Zero Dawn is an awesome game that features a compelling science-fiction story and a fun open world to explore. While some hardcore fans will inevitably bemoan this addition, it's a 100-percent optional mode that will do nothing besides allow more players to enjoy those aforementioned elements.
