Respawn Says More Titanfall Is On The Way

by Suriel Vazquez on Aug 04, 2017 at 01:22 PM

Despite being an all-around great shooter, Titanfall didn't live up to its sales expectations. It released in a particularly competitive holiday season against games like Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Battlefield 1, and more, and wasn't able to make the splash EA and developer Respawn wanted it to. But fans who may be weary about the series' prospects may not have much to worry about.

In an interview with GameSpot, Respawn CEO Vince Zampella stated that despite not selling as well as it could have, the series is far from done. Titanfall 2 has received a number of free content updates (the latest of which is four-player co-op mode) but the company is already thinking forward. "It's important to keep the franchise going. 'We're doing more Titanfall," Zampella said. "There's some other things we're doing that haven't been announced just yet, but we're heavily invested in the Titanfall universe."

What those projects are is up in the air, but the company announced in March that it's working with South Korean company Nexon on a free-to-play version of Titanfall and with mobile developers to make games on the platform.

Our Take
Very excited about a potential Titanfall 3: BT's Back Jack.
