Several Classic Halo Games Are Getting Backward Compatibility
Xbox One's Backwards Compatibility will be getting a hefty dose of Halo later this year when Halo: CE Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo 4 are added to the program.
Each game will have fully operational multiplayer and also supports LAN play between other Xbox Ones and Xbox 360s. 343 Industries also announced that once the backwards compatibility goes live, every map pack for these games will be available free of charge so that fans can get the full matchmaking and custom games experience.

Our Take:
It seems a little weird to bring these titles to the back-compat program because they're already playable on Xbox One in The Master Chief Collection, but considering all of the matchmaking problems that plagued it, this could be a better way to play these old titles online. Halo 3: ODST was also missing its multiplayer in that collection, so hopefully we can finally now dive back into Firefight.
