The Rock Gets Lost In A Video Game In Jumanji Sequel's First Trailer

by Douglas DeLong on Jun 29, 2017 at 12:23 PM

Jumanji was a 1995 classic about a supernatural jungle-themed board game coming to life. Twenty-two years later, the film is finally getting a sequel.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle changes up the premise in a significant way. Instead of the Jumanji board game bleeding into the real world, four teenagers are sucked into a video game version of Jumanji and forced to play as the avatars they select at the start screen.

The tone looks campy but fun and has a star-studded comedic cast featuring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black. You can watch the reveal trailer below.

In a recent interview with The Independent, Jack Black said that Robin William's character from the original will be featured in a prominent way as a tribute to his legacy. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle comes to theaters this Christmas.
