Destiny-Themed GuardianCon Has Already Raised Over $1 Million For St Judes

by Ben Reeves on Jun 29, 2017 at 01:40 PM

This year marks the third annual GuardianCon, a two-day community convention built out of a Destiny Twitch streamer meet-up that aims to raise money for charitable organizations by playing and talking about games. The organization has already rasied over $1 Million for St Judes and that number is still climbing.

You might not be familiar with GuardianCon, but this seems to be its breakout year, and the show could keep growing. This year the show's activities range from a week-long broadcast marathon featuring various content creators and game developers, discussion panels, vendors, live music, gaming stations, and PvP tournaments. You can check out the full schedule here. The convention runs from June 30 to July 1 in the Tampa, Florida Expo Hall, so you might still have time to go (or donate) if you hurry.

Our Take
One million dollars is a pretty significant amount of money, and the show hasn't even officially started yet. It's great to see peole who love playing games come together to do something good for other people.
