Capcom Has No Current Plans To Localize Monster Hunter XX For The West
With the reveal of Monster Hunter: World at Sony's E3 press conference this year, a natural question arose: What about Monster Hunter XX, the port of the 3DS game that is on its way to Switch?
When GameSpot, asked a Capcom representative today whether the company would be bringing the game over to Western shores for the first time (the 3DS version is still not available outside Japan), the representative reportedly replied, "No."
Capcom has since tweeted a clarification, saying the company has simply not announced any plans to localize the game.
Just to clarify: our official response is we have not announced any plans to localize MHXX at this time. https://t.co/mI31mcrrvE

The distinction is small but significant: Capcom's statement allows it more wriggle room to bring the game over at a later date.
Our Take
The cynical take is that Capcom is waiting for hype to build around Monster Hunter: World before saying anything about XX. It might even be waiting for World to release before releasing another portable version. Either way, I get the idea of not having the two titles overlap, but it sends a bad message to fans who just want to play a new Monster Hunter already.
