Monster Hunter World Coming To PlayStation 4 Next Year

by Suriel Vazquez on Jun 12, 2017 at 08:30 PM

The game was revealed on stage at Sony's conference today. The trailer shows all the features we've come to expect from the series: Giant, unwieldy swords, lush forests, cooking meat, and lots of collecting. The hunter in the trailer seems to be able to find nearby resources using a collection of sprites.

Of course, the monster-hunting is front-and-center, and the trailer doesn't disappoint on that front. Approaching a giant T-rex monster, the hunter has a number of interesting tricks at his disposal, such as using camouflage to disguise himself to get closer to the monster, a zipline to evade the monster as it runs towards him, and traps to lay down and pin the monster down. The trailer also showcases how elaborate these hunts can be: the fight takes place across several areas with winding paths, and the hunter climbs on the monster and takes advantage of specific weak points

Though the game didn't offer a specific release date, we can expect it sometime in early 2018.
