Original Xbox Library Starts To Become Backward Compatible On Xbox One

by Ben Reeves on Jun 11, 2017 at 05:39 PM

The list of Xbox One’s backward compatible games is about to grow as Microsoft promises to bring many of the original Xbox games over to its current console.

Several original Xbox games, including Crimson Skies, will soon be backward compatible with the Xbox One. Microsoft also said that these original games will look and play better than ever before. We expect to learn more about this service before it officially launches later this year.

Xbox marketing lead Albert Penello also confirmed some additional details about how original Xbox backwards compatibility works. Specifically, players will be able to use their original Xbox discs, transfer licences for any digital games they own, and system-link consoles from across generations to play together.
