e3 2017

Battlefield 1 will soon receive a new expansion focusing on the Russian front of the first World War, EA announced at its E3 press conference this year.

As a follow-up to the They Shall Not Pass expansion and the Nivelle Nights map hitting in June, In The Name of the Tsar (which hits this September) adds six new maps to the game, including the Prise De Tahure and Lupkow Pass, new weapons, and new playable combatants, including the Women's Battallion of Death.

Aside from the new additions, In the Name of the Tsar also expands the game's progression and introduces "new multi-battle experiences" in the Operations mode. Finally, EA hinted at the reveal of a new competitive mode for the game at this year's Gamescom event in August. You can watch a trailer for the expansion below.
