EA Reveals A Way Out, A Co-Op Game From The Makers Of Brothers

by Elise Favis on Jun 10, 2017 at 02:48 PM

A Way Out is an upcoming co-op adventure game from the makers of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. EA revealed the new game during its press conference today, showing footage and giving some background on it. Featuring exclusively split-screen co-op, you and a friend play as two prison inmates named Leo and Vincent.

Josef Fares, who is best known for 2013's indie puzzle game Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, is acting as both writer and director for A Way Out at his new studio Hazelight. Described as an "emotional adventure," players will nonetheless see several action sequences as they undergo car chases, fights, shootouts, and more.

“This game is going to bring a co-op experience unlike anything you have ever seen before,” Fares said during the conference. “The idea for A Way Out came when me and a friend tried to find a story driven co-op game that wasn’t a drop-in/drop-out experience."

You can play the split-screen co-op online or locally with a friend, as you work together and watch both protagonists' individual stories unfold.

A Way Out is coming in early 2018. For more, watch both the reveal and gameplay trailers below.
