Torment: Tides Of Numenera Trailer Showcases Major Update
If you’ve been waiting for the right time to dive in and explore Torment: Tides of Numenera, it seems like now you have even more reason to check out the acclaimed role-playing game. A new free update adds a host of new features, all built around offering a more robust play experience for new or returning players.
A new party member can now join the crew; Oom is a shapeshifting living artifact that looks very much like a sentient slime – a weird twist that is entirely in keeping with Torment’s odd worldbuilding. The update also includes the addition of the Voluminous Codex, an in-game encyclopedia that helps to flesh out the characters and locations you encounter during the journey.
We’re also promised a new questline, revised encounters (called crisis) throughout the game, and an improved experience on console, where the game had previously suffered from some technical problems.
Torment: Tides of Numenera is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Our Take
Torment: Tides of Numenera is one of my favorite games of 2017 so far. Unfortunately, it released near several other big-name games, and I suspect many players may have missed the game at launch. If you’re excited about complex narratives, unusual fantasy worlds, and more complex themes in your RPGs, I highly recommend checking it out, especially now that the game features these new improvements.
