New BioWare IP Delayed

by Daniel Tack on May 09, 2017 at 04:35 PM

Announced today on an Electronic Arts investor earnings call, BioWare's upcoming action title that features live service and a "disruptive new social design" has been pushed back to FY19. The title was originally slated for a 2018 release.

To learn what BioWare is revealing about the mysterious game at this point, click here to learn from BioWare's general manager Aaryn Flynn about how the new project is coming along.

Our Take
This makes the game sound pretty far off from what many people expect from a traditional BioWare RPG. Pure speculation based on just a few words, I'm guessing it will be a full on new-age MMORPG (Destiny, Dauntless, that kind of thing, with small instanced experiences as part of a larger, often huge, player base) that will take advantage of many concepts that are only being explored right now, like Twitch integration and streaming interactive experiences. We won't know for quite some time though with that delay – let's just hope it turns out amazing, whatever it is!
