Hot on the heels of the revelation that 505 Games is publishing the next title from Max Payne and Alan Wake developer Remedy Entertainment, the publisher announced a new addition to its executive team. Former 2K Games general manager Nick Ralley has joined 505 Games as its next president.

“505 Games is at a very exciting stage in its development as a global publisher," Ralley said in a prepared statement. "The team have come a long way in their 11-year history and I know they are poised for even greater things. I am extremely excited to join the team to continue to build on the foundations they have laid and help take them to the next level.”

Ralley spent more than a decade at 2K Games, during which the company released BioShock, rebooted XCOM, nurtured the Mafia franchise, and continued its long run of success with the Civilization series. Before working at 2K, Ralley spent eight years at Codemasters.

Our Take
505 Games has quietly built a reputation for making interesting titles on the back of Payday 2 and a series of indie gems like Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons, Virginia, and Abzu. It will be interesting to see if Ralley's addition to the executive staff signals a stronger move toward backing larger-scale projects.
