You're probably knee-deep in the getting all the skins you want from Uprising, the latest Overwatch event, but there's still plenty more on the way for the game. In a post on Blizzard's forums, game director Jeff Kaplan confirmed more maps are in the works and said they're all likely to launch this year.

Kaplan confirmed three new maps are currently in development for quickplay and competitive. All are past the initial playtesting phase.  "While something could always change, all three of those are looking likely for a release this year," he wrote.

He also noted that the team is creating three non-standard maps that won't go into competitive or quickplay alongside teasing that a few other experiments are in the works. "We want to play on these maps as badly as you guys do," Kaplan wrote. "We'll work as fast as we can!"

Hopefully, Blizzard starts sharing some details on these maps soon. We'll keep you posted as we know more.

Our Take
I'm still logging into Overwatch every week, and I love that more maps are on the way. This should shake things up. I'm also curious what Kaplan means by a few other experiments. I've really enjoyed a lot of the modes they've added to arcade, so I wouldn't mind seeing more show up there.
