Trailer Gives First Taste Of Fruit Ninja Animated Series

by Jeff Cork on Apr 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM

YouTube is bringing an unlikely game franchise to life in a new YouTube Red show aimed squarely at kids. Fruit Ninja: Frenzy Force takes Halfbrick's popular fruit-swiping mobile game and uses it as a backdrop for a 13-episode series.

The animated show stars several formerly normal kids, who accidentally transport a 1,000-year-old ninja into the modern age. They help him adjust to this new world (to varying degrees of success), while he imbues them with the improbable powers of Juice-Jitsu, The kids have special fruit-oriented powers, which naturally come in handy as they beat back the forces of fruity evil.

Take a look at the show in the first trailer, below. YouTube Red subscribers can start watching the complete series on YouTube and the YouTube Kids app starting Friday, May 5.

Fruit Ninja: Frenzy Force is one of several new kid-friendly shows based on popular games and personalities that YouTube Red is bringing to life. Earlier in the month, the service launched shows based on streamers DanTDM and TheAtlanticCraft.
