PSA: The HTC Vive Is $100 Off Today

by Kimberley Wallace on Apr 05, 2017 at 01:25 PM

The HTC Vive is celebrating its one-year anniversary with a price drop. For the first time and for one day only, the high-end virtual-reality headset from Valve and HTC is discounted $100.

The discount is across all retailers and Vive.com. Those who make the purchase also get a free download of Arcade Saga for today only. The headset usually retails for a hefty $799.99, but today's discount brings it to $699.99.

In addition to the price drop, a new VR subscription service launched on Viveport. With this service, you can pick five titles every month from a growing library of curated content for only $6.99; all Vive customers can try it for one month free.

Steam is also hosting a sale to celebrate the occasion with discounts on hundreds of VR titles. The sale runs until 10 a.m. PT on Monday.
