Originally released on the GameCube, Pikmin 2 was later ported to the Wii console as one of the New Play Control titles that introduced motion controls to previously released games. This Wii version of the game is now available on the Wii U's Virtual Console for $19.99.

Pikmin 2 saw Captain Olimar return to the strange Pikmin planet to collect bottle caps and other treasures in order to pay off his space-faring company's debt. This sequel to the first management sim starring the adorably weird creatures included new Pikmin types, a two-player capture the flag mode, and enhanced graphics.

Our Take
The motion controls of the New Play Control version were an interesting addition to the management aspect of Pikmin 2. That said, it's a good idea to let players choose between the Wiimote and Wii U GamePad controllers for players who are averse to motion control.
