PS4 Games Coming To PlayStation Now

by Zak Wojnar on Mar 13, 2017 at 10:02 AM

PlayStation Now may be overlooked by some outspoken factions of the gaming community, but the service is still chugging along, marching to the beat of its own drum, and it's about to get a major profile boost.

We first noticed something was up when it was announced that Sony would be dropping PS Now support from devices such as the PS3 and PS Vita, leaving only PlayStation 4 and Windows PCs as viable platforms for the cloud gaming platform. We now know why: PlayStation 4 games are joining PS Now in 2017.

There are currently a whopping 483 PlayStation 3 games on the service, and soon, titles from Sony's newest home console will be joining the roster. It is currently unknown which games will be coming and when they will arrive, but Sony will be launching a private test within the next few weeks, which should set the stage for the next evolution of Now.

Our Take
Sony still believes in the potential of PlayStation Now, as do many of the service's loyal subscribers. Adding PS4 games to the mix could be the shot in the arm the platform needs to get more gamers to sign up. As for what games might appear, it's all unknown for now, but older first-party titles like Killzone: Shadowfall and Knack would seem like obvious locks for launch.
