by Jordan Leendertsen on Mar 10, 2017 at 07:00 AM

The Japanese website Inside has reported that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild-themed DLC will be making its way to Monster Hunter XX in Japan later this year. The announcement trailer shows a great many things that will be familiar to Breath of the Wild players, including Link's new blue duds, as well as some bow action, and a brief glimpse of what looks like the Master Sword. You can take a look at the announcement trailer down below.

Some other announced crossovers reported by Inside included Okami, Strider, and Ace Attorney. You can get a look at those trailers and more here

Monster Hunter XX will be releasing in Japan on March 18, and is currently not planned for a western release.

Our Take
While it's a bummer Monster Hunter XX doesn't have a US release planned at the moment, fans of the series shouldn't lose all hope. With the series' enduring popularity on the 3DS, it seems that an eventual entry on the Nintendo Switch is inevitable, and DLC crossovers like this leave the door open for further collaborations in the future.
