Rocket League Getting PS4 Pro Update And More Next Week

by Brian Shea on Feb 14, 2017 at 05:33 AM

Psyonix, the developer behind the ever-popular Rocket League, has announced that its adrenaline-fueled car soccer game will soon support PlayStation 4 Pro. However, even if you don't play on a PS4 Pro, you will benefit from the update.

In addition to boosting performance of Rocket League to 4K on PlayStation 4 Pro, the update will also improve the game running on standard PlayStation 4 models to 1080p. The game will also run at 60 frames-per-second in all arenas in one-player and two-player splitscreen following this update across all PlayStation 4 models. If you play three- or four-player splitscreen, that 60 frames-per-second mark will still be hit on most arenas at the same resolution based on which PS4 model you're playing on.

On top of that, the update is set to bring new premium Hot Wheels DLC cars, the Twin Mill III and Bone Shaker, additional free Hot Wheels-themed post-match item drops, a new "Player's Choice" crate that features the winning items of a fan-vote, and various technical fixes and improvements. The update is scheduled to hit on February 21.
