Crusade Expansion Announced For Galactic Civilizations III

by Zak Wojnar on Feb 02, 2017 at 10:57 AM

Galactic Civilizations III released in May 2015 to positive reviews, earning praise for its classic 4X strategy gameplay and – for the first time in the series – the inclusion of multiplayer. The first expansion, Mercenaries, came out in 2016, and this year will bring Crusade, the latest chapter in the ever-growing universe.

Crusade will bring a host of new features to the space sim, including a new campaign, new alien civilizations to befriend or destroy, and Interactive Invasions for more immersive and hands-on gameplay. Crusade aims to be the biggest expansion developer Stardock has ever attempted, and they will host weekly "Crusade Diaries" on their website to explain the myriad updates and inclusions which make up the DLC.

Galactic Civilizations III: Crusade releases this Spring for PC. Back in May 2015, GI's Dan Tack gave the base game a solid score of 8.75, saying that it has "something for everyone," and calling it, "a fun, deep, and somehow accessible entry in a genre that’s often viewed as complicated and excessively complex."
