The intense Poké-craze of 2016 that started with Pokémon Go carried forward right into Sun & Moon. According to a Nintendo financial report released today, the 3DS game has already sold 14.6 million copies.

The publisher also said the mobile hit fueled growth of the Pokémon back catalog, which led to a 10-percent year-over-year growth in 3DS sales and 20-percent year-over-year growth of 3DS software sales from the period of April to December. This helped offset the continual poor performance of the Wii U, which saw plummeting sales for both hardware (75-percent drop year-over-year) and software (46-percent decrease).

In total, the company netted $569 million in profit, a strong positive swing from previous quarter, when the company reported losses of $51.7 million. You can read the full report here.
