Reader Discussion: Which Style Of Resident Evil Game Do You Prefer?

There is a clear dividing line in the Resident Evil franchise and it is right before the release of Resident Evil 4. That game took the series in an action-focused direction, changing it dramatically for years to come. The games in the series before Resident Evil 4 feel very different than the ones after it. Both types are good in their own ways, but which do you prefer? The slower-paced atmospheric horror of the originals? Or the crazy action with periodic jump-scares of 4 and beyond?
