EA Reveals Its Press Conference And Event Details For E3 2017

by Elise Favis on Jan 18, 2017 at 09:05 AM

Electronic Arts has revealed its plans for E3 2017, detailing that the EA Play event will occur from June 10 to 12 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. It's easy to speculate that the event will be kickstarted with EA's press conference, where rapidfire game announcements are expected.

EA Play will be broadcast live online, similar to previous iterations of the conference, so that fans from around the world can tune in. Music acts are also planned to take part in the conference, though these haven't likely been booked yet, so it's unclear who these acts will be.

Our Take
With EA Play beginning as early as Saturday, it means that E3 and its connected events will be extended to a nearly week-long event for many who attend the show. In recent years, E3 was shortened, which led to relief from many industry professionals who had previously struggled with the intense and non-stop nature of the lengthy show. EA's move to a Saturday event means that many attendees will once again be looking at a longer event. For EA's part, the move is likely in an effort to carve out some space away from the crowded press conference days on Sunday and Monday. EA had a good run in 2016, with critically acclaimed titles including Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1. I'll be curious to see what's in store.
