Arc System Works Developing Guilty Gear Update For Arcades, Two Games For Switch

by Suriel Vazquez on Jan 14, 2017 at 10:26 AM

Announced at this year's Arc System Works Fighting Game Award event, Guilty Gear: Xrd's "Rev 2" (Revelator 2) update should give fans of the series something to get excited for in 2017.

The update will add two new characters, Answer and Baiken. "Business Ninja" Answer is a previously unplayable character who appeared the Xrd's story mode, while Baiken is a returning character who wields a Katana while wearing an eyepatch. Both will receive their own episodes in the story mode, as will Jam, Raven, Kum, and Dizzy, who were previously added in the first Revelator update for Xrd.

Along with the new characters, (which you can check out in the trailer below), Rev 2 will offer a host of balance changes. The update will release in Japanese arcades in Spring of this year, but will come to the West on consoles eventually, according to Arc System Works' Twitter account.

Additionally, the company announced it is working on a game in the BlazBlue series (whether this would be a new game or a port of an existing update to the original was unclear), as well as a port its 3DS game, New Frontier Days: Founding Pioneers, though it did not offer release dates for either.

Our Take
I still haven't too much time with the first Revelator, so a second update may get me back in. This is also the first I've heard of New Frontier Days, so maybe that'll be okay?
