Nintendo Announces Switch Price And Release Date
October's reveal of the Nintendo Switch gave us a look at the console/handheld hybrid for the first time, but it left us with more questions than answers. Two of the biggest questions were "How much will it cost?" and "When will it come out?" Thanks to tonight's Nintendo Switch Presentation, we now know the answers to both of those questions.
Nintendo Switch launches on March 3 worldwide. If you're looking to pick one up, it will set you back $299.99.
Currently, the PlayStation 4 is priced at $300 for the Slim model and $400 for the Pro model, while the Xbox One retails for anywhere between $300 and $450 depending on the model and hard drive size. When the PS4 launched, it started at $400, while the Xbox One set players back a whopping $500. The Switch starting at $300 means that it is positioned to be competitive with the pre-existing heavy hitters from Sony and Microsoft.
