Get Ready For The Nintendo Switch Presentation, And Watch Right Here

by Matt Miller on Jan 12, 2017 at 06:20 AM

Nintendo has been especially cagey about its newest console. After significant teasing over the course of the preceding months, the Nintendo Switch received its public-facing name back in October, but many other details were left out, including pricing as well as technical details, not to mention very little conversation about what games players could expect to enjoy on the new system. Hopefully, that will all change tonight; the Nintendo Switch is set to receive a dedicated live stream on January 12 (tonight) at 11pm ET/10pm CT/8pm PT.

If you’re eager to learn more, then set aside your prime time viewing for the evening, and hop back here to watch the reveal on YouTube, which you can watch below. Alternately, you can also watch the live stream directly on Nintendo’s dedicated site, or on Nintendo’s Twitch channel. After tonight, you may also want to keep an eye out for Nintendo’s Treehouse stream tomorrow morning at 9:30am ET/8:30am CT/6:30am PT.

To learn everything we know about the Nintendo Switch ahead of tonight's stream, check out our complete summary.

Our Take
Nintendo’s approach to unveiling the Nintendo Switch flies in the face of standard practice within the gaming industry, including its own past reveals. The system is only a few weeks out from a March launch, and there are still a lot of details we don’t know. Here’s hoping that tonight’s event offers a comprehensive understanding of what we can expect from the new platform so that consumers can decide whether the console might be worth a purchase.
