The last Mass Effect game released about five years ago, and that's a long time to wait for a new installment if you're a fan. Well, the wait is almost over: BioWare has announced the release date for Mass Effect Andromeda.

According to a blog post from BioWare general manager Aaryn Flynn, Andromeda will be available on March 21 in North America (and March 23 in Europe). Previously, the game only had a vague "spring 2017" release, which means that the studio technically could have targeted April or May. However, Flynn says that the members of the studio played the latest version over the holidays, and the endorsement offered by those employees played a role in locking down the March date.
