Light Up A Marvel Fireplace For The Holidays

by Matt Miller on Dec 25, 2016 at 05:00 AM

A few days back, we laughed as we learned about Marvel’s plans for celebrating the holidays, and as many prepare for holiday get-togethers with friends and family, it’s worth highlighting the clever videos.

In each of ten distinct videos, Marvel is giving you and yours an alternative to the standard birchwood crackling digital fireplace channels that so many enjoy. Instead, the new videos highlight individual superheroes and their own holiday fireplaces.

In each case, Marvel has included both a broader room view and a close-up view of the crackling fireplace.  We get a look at the homes of several Avengers (Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor) who each seem to have  distinct setups. The videos also give us a fun twist on a fireplace on board the Guardians of the Galaxy’s spaceship; in lieu of a fireplace, the spacefaring heroes appear to use some sort of contained fusion reactor to celebrate. Finally, most of the fireplaces are for existing characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so we were intrigued to see the inclusion of Ms. Marvel’s New Jersey Home, a character who has not yet appeared in the MCU. In the comics, Ms. Marvel is Marvel’s first Muslim character to headline her own comic book, so it’s great to see her inclusion for families who might identify more with a similar hearth in their own home.

We've included the Guardians close-up fire below (complete with dancing Baby Groot), but check out Marvel's YouTube page for all the available fireplace videos.

Enjoy the fires, and have a wonderful holiday season!
