Lost Odyssey was one of the most-requested titles for Xbox One's backwards compatibility program. When the RPG finally joined the ranks of old games that worked on the new system, some fans were disappointed that there was no digital version; you needed the Xbox 360 discs. That's no longer the case, and that's not all: You can get the digital version of Lost Odyssey for free for the rest of the month.

The news comes from Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, who also notes that Blue Dragon is available digitally as well.

Our Take
Both Microsoft and Sony left backward compatibility behind at the beginning of this generations, but Microsoft's recent efforts in this department are turning into a real up Xbox One's sleeve. Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon are among the best traditional RPGs of the last generation, and gamers get excited when their old favorites become available again – or when they have the opportunity to try acclaimed games for the first time.
