I always appreciated the earlier Assassin's Creed games for their strange blend of science fiction and history. The newest and final trailer for the Assassin's Creed film has been revealed, and it shows that it won't shy away from the series' science fiction lore and artifacts like the Apple of Eden.

The movie stars Michael Fassbender as Callum Lynch, who, similar to Desmond, is in the clutches of the Templars in present day, and experiences the incredible adventures of his ancestor through an Animus. Through these journeys, Callum assumes the role of Aguilar in 15th Century Spain.

You can watch the trailer below, along with another short clip titled "Cafeteria" that premiered recently.

The movie hits theaters as of December 21. For more, read how Ubisoft has been in talks with Netflix about a potential TV series.
