Rockstar Cult Classic Bully Enrolls On Mobile Devices Today

by Matt Bertz on Dec 08, 2016 at 03:00 AM

Ten years after its original release, many Game Informer editors still look back fondly Bully, Rockstar's risky but ultimately rewarding tale of adolescence that angered prejudicial parents and won over those who bothered to actually play the game. Today you can enjoy the hijinks of Jimmy Hopkins and his Bullworth Academy friends and rivals on mobile devices.

Available now on iOS and Android platforms, this new version of bully features all the content found in the Scholarship Edition, plus support for high-resolution displays, improved graphics, and controls designed from the ground up for touch controls. It also adds a multiplayer element to the game. "Friend Challenges are head-to-head classroom and arcade style mini-games: see who can dissect the frog fastest in Biology, solve word problems in English, help a flying squirrel destroy his enemies with acorns in Nut Shots, and much more," Rockstar says. The challenges also send out notifications so you know when it's your turn.

When it originally released on PlayStation 2 in 2005, Game Informer awarded the game an 8.5, saying "Rockstar Vancouver has created an extremely detailed universe, full of secrets, humorous characters, and hidden activities." In the years since, we've added our voice to the chorus hoping to one day see a sequel.

The $6.99 Bully: Anniversary Edition can be downloaded now on iPhone 5 and newer, iPod Touch 6th Gen, iPad 4th Gen and newer, iPad Mini 2 and newer, iPad Pro, and select Android devices.
