See Jimmy Fallon Play Zelda On Nintendo Switch, Super Mario Run On iPhone

by Brian Shea on Dec 08, 2016 at 05:17 AM

Reggie Fils-Aimé was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night, and he brought with him a couple of goodies for the show's host. Fallon, who has regularly hosted new gaming technology on his shows over the years, had Fils-Aimé on to talk about Super Mario Run, the new auto-run game from Nintendo that is coming to iOS next week.

Fallon started the segment playing Super Mario Run (with Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto in attendance), but as that segment came to a close, Fils-Aimé revealed that he also brought Nintendo's upcoming platform, the Nintendo Switch. Fils-Aimé started up The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and gave a brief demo of the game before showing how the second screen works and passing the controls to Fallon.

In addition to the segment with Fils-Aimé, Miyamoto picked up a guitar and performed a cover of the Super Mario Bros. theme with Fallon's house band, The Roots.

Super Mario Run hits iPhone and iPad on December 15, but you can play a demo starting today in Apple Stores across the world. The Nintendo Switch releases in March, but we expect to learn more about the system and its lineup in January.
