The 20th Pokémon Movie And A Series Based On Sun & Moon Are Coming Soon

by Kevin Slackie on Nov 17, 2016 at 06:57 AM

Pokémon animations have been a giant part of the franchise since the premiere of the show and the first time Mewtwo flew across the screen to a raging guitar solo. That trend is set to continue with two different productions: Pokémon The Series: Sun and Moon along with Pokémon The Movie: Volcanion and The Mechanized Marvel.

The animated Sun and Moon series is slated to come to Disney XD. No release date has been set yet, though it'll probably be sometime soon in order to capitalize on the release of the new games. This new series is getting an overhauled animation style, which may be jarring to fans used to the more traditional art of the older cartoons.

The new Pokémon, Volcanion, takes center stage in the 20th Pokémon movie. Ash maintains his special Greninja and the rest of his team from the XY series in this epic battle of legendary Pokémon. The film is still slated for 2016, so its got about a month and a half to come out on time.

Our Take
One day Ash Ketchum will escape this purgatory of perpetual pre-puberty, but it won't be for a long time. These cartoons may turn out to be good but I'll hold my breath for a full length Generations series over checking these out.
