New PS4 Sharefactory Update Lets You Make GIFs, Collages, and Memes

by Michael Leri on Nov 09, 2016 at 11:29 AM

Sharefactory, the video-editing software on the PS4, received an update today that will make it compatible with the PS4 Pro along with allowing users to create and upload GIFs and collages.

Starting today, editors can make GIFs up to 10 seconds long from any gameplay clip on their PS4 and slap text on it if they see fit. Users can also now make collages with up to six of their favorite photos, complete with optional filters and effects.

Sharefactory also now supports the newly released PS4 Pro, which means you can now edit and share your 4K screenshots. This new update also refreshes the UI, lets players pan and zoom in their videos, makes exports up to 20-percent faster, and adds new "troll" stickers and an "Internet Meme" font.

Our Take
This update adds a lot of useful capabilities necessary to make good on the philosophy behind the Share button. If Sony wants players to share their gameplay and photos, giving them better ways to edit and share them is a great idea.
