Xbox One S Gets Added Blu-Ray Functionality

Microsoft has added functionality to its Xbox One S configuration: The ability to play the BD-R (recordable) and BD-RE (recordable erasable) disc formats.

This allows owners to play more types of blu-ray discs, and Ybarra says the update should be available today.

It's been disappointing that not all disc formats have been supported by the home consoles, especially since some of them were in previous generations, so this is good news.
