What To Watch This Weekend: The League Of Legends Worlds Final, Overwatch's World Cup, And Street Fighter's Canada Cup

by Suriel Vazquez on Oct 29, 2016 at 05:40 AM

We have a cavalcade of tournaments upon us this week, both major and minor. Between League of Legends' biggest tournament wrapping up, to Dota 2's Boston Major entering its early stages, a bunch of Blizzard games having their pre-Blizzcon runups, and couple of major fighting game events, you should have more than enough to watch this weekend.

You can expect record-breaking viewership numbers for this year's League of Legends Worlds Final, which culminates a month of ridiculously intense competition in the world's biggest eSport. (Stream / Schedule)

As one major MOBA tournament sees its conclusion, another began this week. The Dota 2 Boston Major is having its regional qualifiers this week. Watch teams from the Americas, Europe, China, and Southeast Asia compete to move on to the next stage of the tournament, which will take place in (you guessed) Boston. (Stream Hub / Schedule)

We also have what could be the start of Overwatch's biggest tournament yet this weekend: The Overwatch World Cup. The initial group stages, which will determine which teams will face off next week at Blizzcon, will be going on all weekend. (Stream / Schedule)

In other Blizzard tournament news, we have the Hearthstone World Championship, (Stream / Schedule) The HGC Tournament for Heroes of the Storm (Stream / Schedule) The StarCraft II WCS League Finals (Stream / Schedule), and The World of WarCraft Arena World Championship (Stream / Schedule).

In the world of Counter-Strike, we have the ESL Pro League, which is having its finals this year in Sao Paulo, Brazil. (Stream / Schedule).

And for fighting games, there's quite a bit to watch. On the Capcom Pro Tour, we have the Canada Cup (Stream / Schedule), one of the year's biggest tournaments, which will also feature tournaments for a number of non-Capcom fighting games. We also have the Latin America Regional Qualifiers. (Stream / Schedule).

That's it for this week! Did we miss something? Let us know if the comments.
