Skullgirls: 2nd Encore is the re, re-release of Skullgirls, one of the best indie fighting games of the past few years. After being ported a number of digital platforms (including phones), the game is finally getting a physical release.
Announced the official Skullgirls twitter account, the physical version will be available through Limited Run Games and will retail $39.99. This will get you a physical disk, a cover with a slipcase, a full-color instruction manual, and a special edition soundtrack.
Pre-orders for this edition of the game will begin on October 31 on Limited Run Games' website. Additionally, The Skullgirls Twitter account has confirmed that if 10,000 people pre-order the game this way, developer Lab Zero will add a Japanese voice-over option to the console and PC versions of the game.
Our Take
This is a pretty cool edition of the game, and would let people play the game without having access to an internet connection. Hopefully enough people pre-order that the Japanese voice option becomes a reality.
