Kojima Responds To Metal Gear Survive: 'Where Do Zombies Fit In With That?'

by Elise Favis on Sep 18, 2016 at 08:55 AM

Konami is releasing its first post-Kojima Metal Gear game, titled Metal Gear: Survive. The four player co-op game is a stark departure from the series, where you and your teammates fight against hordes of biologically infected zombies. At Tokyo Game Show, Kojima gave his thoughts on Konami's new take on the series.

According to IGN, Kojima made several comments during his stage presentation for Kojima Productions' Death Stranding. When someone asked him about Metal Gear: Survive, Kojima was quick to say, "That's nothing to do with me!"

He went on to say that he doesn't feel like Metal Gear Survive tonally fits the rest of the series. "The Metal Gear games are about political fiction and espionage," he explained. "Where do zombies fit in with that?"

Yoji Shinkawa, former character and mechanical designer of the Metal Gear series, also gave his opinion, in a joking manner.  “If I had worked on that game, it would have mechs in it.”

At TGS, Konami revealed a first look at gameplay for Metal Gear: Survive, which you can watch here. Metal Gear: Survive releases in 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
