Watch Lego Star Wars And Action Figures Collide In Star Wars Go Rogue

by Suriel Vazquez on Sep 16, 2016 at 07:45 AM

As part of their marketing campaign for Star Wars: Rogue One, Lucasfilm is releasing a four-part series of shorts which pit different kinds of Star Wars action figures against each other.

Star Wars Go Rogue uses stop-motion animation to have Star Wars action figures, Lego Star Wars characters, and Funco Pop statues talk and fight with each other. Each short is about two to three minutes long and uses fourth-wall breaking humor to mix the different kinds of toys together. The plot has Rogue One protagonist Jyn Erso looking for the plans to the Lego Death Star set, fighting off Lego Storm Troopers working with Cassian Andor and Baze Malbus.

The series is also accompanied by a contest encouraging fans to create their own two-minute Star Wars: Rogue One-inspired short. The winner will be flown out to Lucasfilm for a screening of Star Wars: Rogue One. You can watch the first two parts of Go Rogue below.

Update 9/16/2016: Disney and Hasbro have released Chapter Three of the series.
