Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie Is Coming To U.S. Theaters

by Suriel Vazquez on Sep 11, 2016 at 09:40 AM

Count Yo-Kai Watch among the Japanese multimedia properties that have reached the "film hitting U.S. theaters" milestone.

Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie, which puts the characters from the Yo-Kai Watch TV series (currently airing on Disney XD) on the big screen, will be hitting U.S. theaters on October 15. You may want to snatch tickets to your local showing quickly, though, as the film had the highest gross of any Japanese film last year and this a special one-day event. You can grab tickets from Fathom events, which will show the film in 300 theaters nationwide, here. Those who attend a screening will receive a special Hovernyan Yo-kai Medal (while supplies last, of course), and see content exclusive to theaters.

Our Take
I'm admittedly not super-knowledgeable about Yo-Kai Watch, but the film coming to U.S. theaters is a sign of how big this series is now. I am, however, a little disappointed they didn't stick to the original Japanese title, "It's the Secret of Birth, Meow!"
